David & Megan’s Perfect Romantic Big Cottonwood Canyon Fall Surprise Proposal

David & Megan’s Perfect Romantic Big Cottonwood Canyon Fall Surprise Proposal

Filed in: Surprise Proposal · By Chris Austin · Oct 4, 2026

Fall in Utah is spectacular. As far as you can see, the hills are covered in the leaf shades of red, orange, and yellow. But when you take a surprise wedding proposal and put it onto a hidden trail in the gorgeous Guardsman Pass area of Big Cottonwood Canyon, near Brighton Resort, you take leaf peeping to a whole new level. David had been planning his romantic surprise proposal with Poppy & Hive Photography for a month, and when he found this trail shrouded in yellow aspens, we knew it was the right spot. His friends and soon-to-be in-laws set up a cute bench with flowers, candles, and pillows, and as they approached the spot, Megan was completely shocked. Of course, she said yes, and the fairy tale beginning was off to the most perfect start.
